Far, Far Away: Wandering Deities

Immortals are believed to be carefree beings possessing supernatural powers. Inspired by ancient Chinese folk stories and mythologies, this composition presents a scene of chance encounter between two deities in a faraway land. Unaware of each other, they met and had some arguments, but upon resolving the tension, they were off to explore the unknowns together. Representing the deities on Gaoyin Sheng (Soprano Mouth Organ) and Zhonghu, the music depicts four sections: Tranquility, Riding on Clouds and Mist, Tit-for-Tat, and Expedition.

神仙是古代神话传说中具超人能力、逍遥自在的人物。印象中神仙居住在遥远的深处，因此作者以“九霄云外”的概念，想象两位互不相识的神仙出现于各自的山头并邂逅于云端。通过高音笙和中胡的对比音色，将神仙出游的意境勾勒出来。全曲分“气定神闲”、“腾云驾雾”、“针锋相对”及“神游”四个部分。
