Yesterday the British Prime Minister broke two manifesto pledges in one day; one relating to pensions and the other with raising National Insurance contributions. As is his way, he was unable to be honest about the reasons for breaking his promises, although there is no real mystery about what has brought matters to such a pass. Both the Covid-19 measures and immigration are involved.
