You have to admit - submarines are incredibly fascinating. These machines can be sent to the deepest parts of the ocean and remain under the intense pressure of the water for months at a time. Even people that have no interest in the war or maritime history find these boats extremely fascinating - myself included. I couldn’t even imagine what it must be like to be sent on a submarine mission and remain locked away in these tiny machines for weeks or months on end. I’d lose my mind!

Regardless, this is a reality for many people. But if claustrophobia wasn't enough to get your blood pumping, a terrifying reality is that many military submarines are forever lost at sea after they lose contact with workers that are on land, or they are shot down by enemy forces. The problem is that many of these wreckage sites remain undiscovered for years, sometimes decades. Today we will be taking a look at the mysterious disappearances of five submarines.
