Connect! 2021: It Starts With a Definition - Manuel Gerhardt, Baris Basa, Tim Hoffeller (Ekkodale)

*It starts with a definition*
Speakers: Manuel Gerhardt (Software Developer, ekkodale), Baris Basa (Software Developer, ekkodale), Tim Hoffeller (CEO, ekkodale)
Description: It starts with a definition! In BIM projects, the requirements for the information contained in the model are defined by the client via EIR and subsequently by the design team in the BEP. Currently, the entered data usually ends up in the 3D model via BIM software. As a result, all information is transported through the eye of the needle that is the BIM modeler. With leaDE, ekkodale has developed a solution based on speckle, which separates the 3D model and the information. leaDE enables the editing and maintenance of the required information levels outside of the BIM model (e.g. in Revit), depending on the project phase, the role and the use case. This creates a central information pool based on the 3D model. Everyone can contribute to it in the project, whether architect, installer, specialist planner or later the operator. All data remains with the customer, access is possible with any web-enabled device.
In the session, we will show the possibilities that arise from such a central information pool, as well as a few use cases and examples.
*Connect!* is Speckle's three day virtual conference for engineers, designers, BIM managers, hackers, and anyone interested in modern solutions, open-source, and data-driven processes for the AEC industry π https://hopin.com/events/connect-50c0df4f-24ce-44b4-a9ad-4c980cba28e1#schedule
