If You're Dealing Drugs, at Least Have a Valid License

EAU CLAIRE, WI -- In the early morning of 12/29/2022, police in Eau Claire conducted a traffic stop on a car after the computer system identified the driver as not having a valid license. Prior to being pulled over, the vehicle had driven in a circle while the officer was monitoring its location. The occupants were identified as two men who go by Chad and Demetrius - both of whom have extensive drug-related criminal histories.
When asked, Demetrius indicated he and Chad were going to the very appropriately named Alibi Lounge, a local bar. The officer found this strange, however, because they had been driving in a circle and gone past the Alibi already.
When Chad was pat-down, officers discovered what they believed to be marijuana. In the end, Chad was charged with possession of THC, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia, but was released on the scene and ordered into court at a later date. Demetrius wasn't so lucky. He ended up being arrested and charged with multiple drug-related felonies, felony possession of an electric weapon (taser), and carrying a concealed knife. Demetrius was released on a signature bond that same morning.
